The challenge for B2B suppliers is to make their product information available to key decision makers when they need it. On a typical project, 30-40% of products will be sourced from new or alternative suppliers. Good quality print and online directories provide an efficient means of information exchange. The information contained in this website and the five ESI directories has been researched, qualified and organised by editors to allow users to identify potential suppliers with the minimum of fuss.

Business Activity

ESI is a business to business information provider connecting producers and buyers through its online and printed information products.

ESI technical editors research, classify and collate information, creating detailed and authoratitive directories which provide an efficient means of information exchange.

ESI printed directories are distributed on a free controlled basis to over 60000 qualifying specifiers and buyers each year. They are used to source new suppliers and to generate ideas for projects on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Manufacturers invest in ESI editorial services to reach this audience, promoting their products and services through Illustrated Technical Profiles.

DPA

In September 2007, INTERIOR DESIGN Edition 2 was awarded Business Directory of the Year at the awards ceremony held in Brighton.

The judges commented that:

“The way hard copy and website work together is impressive. They both combine strong visual information with the data their marketplace requires, and then presents it well to engage in a manner likely to appeal to the specific marketplace. All of this has translated into impressive business growth.”

ESI are committed to ensuring that we understand the changing needs of both our advertisers and users. We have carried out an extensive survey of our users to determine their changing information needs.

How do buyers and specifiers find the product information they need?
Information sourcing in 2007 will help you find out:

  • What sources of product information are most important?
  • What do they really think of search engines and online directories?
  • Which product directories do they use and why?
  • How often do they use the internet for product research?
  • Which journals and exhibitions do they value most?
  • and much more...

The survey findings have been designed to assist ESI in the development of our information services whilst also providing marketers with quantifiable research data.
